The Power Of The African Diaspora: The Siddi Community In India

The Siddi are an ethnic group of African descent who reside in parts of India and Pakistan. Descendants of the Bantu tribe found primarily in present day Central and Southeastern Africa, they arrived in India and were sold into slavery by Portuguese and Arab merchants. Kenya’s Citizen TV features a community that has been largely shrouded in secrecy, but one that demonstrates the power of the African diaspora.
