Will Smith is arguably one of the finest actors in Hollywood, and has starred in numerous blockbuster movies. His latest is the movie Concussion, where he plays the lead role as Dr. Bennet Omalu, a Nigerian forensic pathologist whose autopsy of Pittsburgh Steelers center Mike Webster led to Omalu’s discovery of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a degenerative disease of the brain.
Of course the United States National Football League (NFL) is not particularly happy with this new release that is due in theaters across the US on Christmas Day 2015, given that they have tried to hide evidence that links brain trauma to football for many years. We will see how this plays out.
The movie’s trailer however, has a lot of Nigerians wondering not about Smith’s acting chops, but his Smith’s take on an authentic naija accent.
