In an animated series developed by Blank on Blank which features lost interviews with famous people, Nina Simone shares her story with Italian radio host Lilian Terry. Recorded in 1968, the talk highlights the singer, songwriter and activist’s never before heard views on fashion, getting in the groove, black pride and of course, her music.
Egyptian born Lilian Terry is currently working on a literary project called “Voices from the Jazz Dimension” that will record her collection of interviews with jazz legends from Nina to Duke Ellington. The excerpt above illustrates the depth to which she goes to know and understand the real Nina.
